              What Causes Scoliosis Among Babies? Congenital scoliosis is a rare form of scoliosis that is presented as a defect at birth. The most common signs of congenital scoliosis are hemivertebra or unilateral bar.  A hemivertebra is when the spinal bone doesn’t develop adequately. The Relationship between Plagiocephaly and Torticollis. Stretches and Manipulation To understand the relationship between plagiocephaly and torticollis you need to know what each of them is. Babies can be born with both conditions. Sometimes one can cause the other and vice versa. Plagiocephaly presents itself with an asymmetrically shaped head, one side being more flat than the other side. Torticollis is a shortened neck muscle causing a head tilt.
